I know that some cichlids are fairly peaceful but none really are "kind" lol..I saw some blood parrots today and they are rather nippy in the tank even by themselves. Pictures??

There are a couple of male Cichlid breeds used to crossbreed with the female Parrot eggs. The male Parrot are usually infertile, so this is when the male of other Cichlids come in. One is the Red Devil and may have a personality trait of the Red Devil. Other is the Pink Convict. There is a few others. Mine does not resemble a cross of a Red Devil. There is a large Parrot at Wet Pets that is a reddish color and is a cross of Red Devil while there is others being orange in there.

I am not sure exactly the male Cichlid used to fert the eggs, because this one I picked has a better looking (curve) mouth, altho not able to close completely, but look better. The ones that I had seen at Wet Pets have their mouth more of a triangular shape.

One thing that I have noticed is that this Parrot does not care about any of the other fishes in the tank. I've seen the Striped Raphael catfish swimming closely and made contact with no issue. However, this Parrot have no problem doing a lil chase after the Zebra Convict (or Black?). lol

Sometime some Parrots do chase each other, maybe nip, but at the end of the day, they sleep together. Many different stories reported on them. Its like the saying, it all comes down to each fish's personality and trait, the same as us. :-)

I've been trying to take some good pix of him (or her) and it has been hard. Still super shy and scared, sometime it seem like the phase had passed, but then hide again. It will be a while. I've read that having some dither fish will reduce the shyness. I can get a decent school of Zebra Danios.

I have a couple pix that shows him peeking out of his hiding spot at a distance, which is rather cute with those big eyes. :-)

Here is a list of what I have....

3 Swordtails (two of them female) ... The other day, I saw a baby fry! Decent size, so it must have been in there for a week. The Parrot was chasing it, then a Tiger or two saw it. I'm not sure if a Tiger got it or not. The fry quickly went thru the large deco.

5 female Cherry Barbs and just added 3 male Cherry Barbs today.

1 Crowntail Betta

3 Tiger Barbs

3 Green Tiger Barbs

2 Albino Tiger Barbs

1 Bristlenose Pleco

1 Striped Raphael Catfish

1 Black (zebra) Convict

1 Dwarf Cichlid (N______ A_____) <<< Can't remember the spelling.

1 Blood Red Parrot

There is a Central American Cichlid that I was considering to get. Resembles the Green Texas Cichlid, but very vibrant blue. Due to the adult size and the nature of them destroying plants, I changed my mind.

Daniel have some young Pulcher Kribs in his tank that I had saw the other day and knew that I wanted them. I have never seen them before in my life, but I was told that they are common. They know that I am seeking to maintain a tank with not so much common fish. I was advised to go with the Central American Cichlid (blue) rather than getting the Kribs and then slowly transform the tank as they grow. But the Parrot will get big and I want to keep my tigers and catfish. Yeah, I am deciding on the Kribs.

The T5 lights that I had on the 29 is now on the frontal edge of this 100. More lights, especially in the front center.

Here some pix I had taken few days ago.
